Think back to the investigation we did with grass in class.

What are the effects of plants on erosion?

When the roots of the grass were holding the soil and it slowed down erosion. Because when somthing like plants are in the soil, the roots hold on to the soil and help keep it in place.

I know that plants slows down Erosion. The roots hold the soil. Erosion slows down a little bit. Last time I wrote to Farmer John that he has to plant plants because he has rich top soil and the wind was blowing the top soil. Thats why we wrote to Farmer John so he could have the top soil again. Plus could have healthy.

I know that plants can slow down erosion. I know it because i did many experiments with erosion. Some things that work is when you plants some plants and break waters. plant help for when theres wind the roots would hold to the soil in place and when water are coming roots are going to hold the soil in place sow it the sop soil wont be washed away. The break water would slow down the water sow the water wont take most of the top soil.

We planted seeds to grow grass. In one day the grass started to grow. The grass grew six inches long. We learned that if you planted grass it can slow down erosion. The plants have root to slow down erosion. We learned that the soil falls down because it didn't have plants to slow down the water .The one that had grass on it did hold the soil because the roots hold the soil in place.
